“Dog.” She waved a hand at the dog cowering at her feet. “Scamper. No harm. Harm bad.”

“Dog Sssscamperr. Harm bad.”

The alien brought the grocery cart into the foyer. He didn’t roll it but carried it like a basket.

“Live. Eat. Sleep.” Akarak turned and left.
