Today is the last day to nominate your favorite hero as the best hero in an SFR novel!
We are taking nominations on our Facebook page. Find the post pinned to the top of the page and add a comment with your SFR book boyfriend’s:
- Name
- Best traits
- Book Title
- Author
Come back during the week to vote on the poll I’ll be posting. Bring your friends and tell them to vote, too. Spread the word. We want to find the best hero out there, so we can all celebrate his glory (not a euphemism)!
For a little fun, I thought I’d share some of my favorites from movies and TV. Please tell us some of yours in the comments!
Caine Wise – a lycan splice, he has the senses, determination, and loyalty of a wolf with all the sexy of a man.
From Jupiter Ascending
Love the scene where Caine tells Jupiter Jones that they are too different for love “I have more in common with a dog than I do with you” and she declares “I love dogs. I’ve always loved dogs.” Forgive any minor errors in the quote. I have a terrible memory for dialog.
Lincholn of the Tree People – a scary “grounder” who woo’s Octavia with flowers, teaches her to fight, and risks everything to keep her safe.
From The 100
Tony Stark, AKA Iron man – a reformed billionaire playboy who is brilliant, funny and arrogant; but also finds time to call his sweetie while he is busy saving the world.
From Iron Man 1 – 3 and Marvels Avengers
Virgil “Bud” Brigman – Master diver and crew chief, he is stubborn enough to wear his wedding ring after his wife has left him and open minded enough to believ it when she suggests aliens are out in the ocean around them. The scene when his wife tells him that he has to kill her will never leave me.
From The Abyss
Note: If you watch the director’s cut, be sure to lay in supplies. It is loooong.
Four – a Divergent who has made his place as a Dauntless, is wise enough to know his young love interest must grow strong and make her own place in their world. He keeps her secrets and faces his fears for her.
From Divergent
Love your choices of Bud Brigman and Four. Both truly inspiring heroes from very different SFR spectrums.
Yeah, I am kind of all over the place in what grabs me. 😉
Love your favorites! Ed Harris in (and out) of the Abyss is one of mine as well. As for Lincholn, well…I have always had a thing for bald. As I am not on Facebook I can’t nominate my favorite but he deserves a mention. My favorite hero in a SFR is not exactly a hero…more of an anti-hero. Kane, from R. Lee Smith’s “Heat”, is a man you love to hate and hate to love. He is so despicable but is such an engrossing character that I still remember him years after reading his story.
Sounds like someone I should check out! Thanks for mentioning. I’d be happy to add Kane to our list – didn’t mean to leave anyone out, but Facebook is new for us so I wanted to give it a try.
Very nice list! Adored Bud Brigman! *sigh* How she could even think of letting him go . . . no accounting for taste. I am not nominating anyone for favorite, because, mostly, I don’t play favorites. I love them all, if differently. That being said, I will mention Han Solo and Luke Skywalker. I mean really, who doesn’t love these two? Otherwise, it is the current hero I am reading about.
Thanks for the reminder, Pansy Petal. I had forgotten Han Solo. I will push the edge of the envelope and say Chubaka too!
