Friday News Roundup

January always seems to end a busy time of year for me and this January has not disappointed. Here are a few things I’d like to share. *Please forgive the me-centric nature of this post*

Issue5-CoverA new SFRQ…

A new edition of the Sci-Fi Romance Quarterly is now available. My article for ScopeBox this quarter is Alien Abduction—the beans and rice of Sci-Fi Romance? The SFRQ also lists new SFR releases and offers SFR reviews. There is even brand new short fiction. It’s a great place to find new to you SFR.

A new SFR Galaxy award…

SFG2014Tomorrow is also the annual announcement of the SFR Galaxy Awards. I had the great honor of being a judge again this year. So much SFR, so little time to get to it all. It is a good problem to have and a long time coming. So, please consider a sign of good times if I didn’t get around to reading your favorite author this year. Hopefully one of the other judges found it! The awards will be announced throughout the day starting with my picks at 10AM tomorrow.  But don’t stop with me. You won’t want to miss picks from Donna, Laurie, Marlene, Jo, Heather, and Anna!

An awesome SFR enthusiast…
Speaking of Heather, that’s Heather Massey, great author in her own right and the blogger behind The Galaxy Express. This is another great place to find out about new SFR releases. She even has a release page for each year. Check out the 2015 release list and you might see a familiar name hanging around in April. *beaming*

A reader event…

Coastal Magic is almost here! Sadly, I’m not attending this year, but I’m heading down to Daytona Beach on Saturday Feb 7th to attend the book signing. If you’re going to be there I’d love to chat! Oh! And last I heard they still had some day passes available.
