Book Blurb: She’s sexy-fierce, resourceful—and will do anything to protect victims as innocent as she once was. But this kick-ass reaper never bargained on meeting her not-quite-human match…or putting their very souls on the line.

A luxury Caribbean cruise is Ruby Dawson’s idea of hell even under the best circumstances. Too many bad memories bubble up—especially of the wrenching injustice that made her a reaper. It doesn’t help that Jack Deverell is making this routine soul-collecting job twice as difficult with his devilish good looks and not-so-innocent questions. Now, as several unscheduled, unexplainable deaths throw passengers and crew into a panic, Jack becomes the prime suspect. The only way Ruby can save him is to challenge the decades-old curse threatening his soul. And as a malevolent unstoppable force turns their immortality into a fatal weakness, Ruby and Jack must risk their fragile humanity to save Fate’s delicate balance and their own unexpected destiny…

Here’s what I thought:  Let me just say flat-out…I LOVED THIS BOOK! For almost a year, I’ve anticipated the release of the second installment in the Grave series and GRAVE DESTINATIONS was so worth the wait. The author takes her faithful fans on a fantabulous journey on the high seas where Fate, herself,  just might sink like the Titanic if a reaper and a demon can’t plug the holes a sinister force is leaving in the fabric of destiny.

Even though the story is what I call a dark paranormal, the author captured the relaxed, easy-breezy atmosphere of a Caribbean cruise during the day and the vibrant throb of excitement and exhibition  inside the shipboard clubs at night. Ruby and Jack are a delicious duo and the fireworks only get hotter and more dazzling when Ruby’s boss, Dmitri get thrown in the mix.

Not to mention Jack’s little demon, Gilrov, is a sinful scene-stealer. I loved it when he came out to play.

GRAVE DESTINATIONS has more suspense than the first book in the series and I rather enjoyed the mystery. GD appealed to my sense of adventure, satisfied my need to work out a puzzle, and gave me what I must always have and that, my dears, is a happily-ever-after that’s true to the characters. I truly couldn’t put it down and when I reached the end, I sighed, for all of two seconds before I realized the next Grave adventure won’t be out for another year. Well, crap! I hate waiting. Although I have every confidence the wait will be worth it.

Author Scoop: I have it on good authority that Lori was a born a coal miner’s daughter. No wait, that’s not right. Actually, she was born a carpenter’s daughter. The youngest of three, Lori never had control of the remote. (Not that she’s bitter about that. Really. Okay, maybe a little, but it’s not like she’s scarred for life or anything.) As such, she was fed a steady diet of science fiction and fantasy. Star Trek, Star Wars, Twilight Zone, Outer Limits bolstered her imagination, and that came in handy when the hormones kicked in and she needed a creative excuse for being out past curfew.

After completing her first manuscript, she joined the Romance Writers of America and Central Florida Romance Writers. Now she exercises the analytical half of her brain at work, and the creative half writing paranormal romance. When she’s not doing either one of those, she’s usually spending time with her husband and children of the four-legged variety. Visit Lori @, friend her on Facebook, and stalk her on Twitter
