As All Hallows Eve, approaches I’ve begun the desperate search for an appropriate costume. I have friends who like to go all out with their costumes. One made himself chain mail. Another dressed his small family as Robin Hood and his band of Merry men. Then there is another friend who’s girlfriend works at the house of mouse and with whom I couldn’t begin to compete with in the costume department. That girl can create.
And of course with Comicon happening last weekend I was forcibly reminded that, I’ve never been to Comicon, or Dragon Con. After seeing all of the pics coming out of Comic Con this week, I must admit that I may not be able to pull off the costume I wanted to.
I was thinking of channeling Nalini Singh’s Shifter series. Or in the totally opposite corner Katherine Britain’s heroine Karrigan in First Rider’s Call.
What about you? Are you dressing up as one of your favorite characters? Or are you using one of your favorite authors worlds for inspiration?
I love Halloween, but I’m too chicken shit to dress up. If I did though it’d have to be something kick ass like Lara Croft from Tombraider or a Dark Huntress from Sherrilyn Kenyon’s Dark Hunter series ! The shifter series sounds cool, I’d love to see pics of your costume! oh oh as a kid I did dress up as the bionic woman once does that count? 😉
I’ve never been one for dress up, but I love to see all the cool stuff other people come up with! Lame is my middle name.
i’m actually drawing up some inspiration from “The Night Circus”
I could walk around with a mocked up screwdriver yelling, ” I’m the girl from Gallifrey!” I could wear some Star Trek swag, but I do that anyway. Or I could take out my R2D2 refrigerator and carry on conversations with it telling people that it ‘really’ works.
Love it! All of it!
I wish I had the time to dress up in something gorgeous and elaborate. If I did, I think I go with something steampunk themed, just for fun. As it is, I’ll be happy if I find the energy to get my small one into his Batman costume. 🙂
Such is the life of a mom. 😉
