    Where be the Dragons?

Today, as I lay on my love seat, my feet propped on the arm, I wonder why I was crazy enough to run a 10k.

Seriously, my knees hurt and I’m still sucking down water as if I’d never had a drink. My half-awake mind keeps conjuring dragons. Not the sexy dragon’s, though, at mile five a dragon to carry me the last 1.2 miles would have been damned sexy, and welcome.

That is, if the dragon were to offer me a ride. Not, eat me for a snack. Or, turn me to ash. (Yes. I know, dragons fall into the realm fantasy, but the definition of Paranormal is anything out of the ordinary. So, I’m running with it.)

The Dragons I have in my head are based on the Dragonlance novels, by Tracy Hickman and Margaret Weis:

    Dragonlance: Autumn Twilight.
    Dragonlance: Autumn Twilight.

I was introduced this particular series by my husband. I fell in love immediately. But since we are on a romance blog it’s funny that I would automatically think of those dragons.

I’ve never thought of dragons as romantic heroes, before I came across the heroes from Deborah Cooke’s Dragonfire series. I’m still not sure that I like dragons/ dragon shifters (I guess I should use the proper terminology.) as heroes.

Personal preference I guess. I mean I like large men, I like heroes with big teeth and claws (werewolves, I haven’t made up my mind about vampires). However, I totally understand I’m discussing magic.

I also realize that magic accounts for an individual transforming into any creature potentially smaller or larger than their human form. (I swear guys all week long I knew what this was called, it escapes me now.)

Somehow dragons stretch the limits of my suspension of disbelief. Of course that might be because I’m envisioning the dragon from the 1981 movie Dragonslayer.

    What about you?
