  • Homecoming and Culture

I’m crawling out of the editing cave tonight because something kept pining on my consciousness as I reread my editor’s comments. Culture. Every country, every people, every family has its own culture.

Last night I had the pleasure of attending what some might call a concert. Us West Indians call it a fete. A fete is, music, drinks and dancing until you’re ready to drop.  It has been years since I’ve been to a fete. And while I enjoyed myself thoroughly there’s something about going back to your roots, to your culture when you’ve been living outside of it.

It is a theme in a few of my stories and so I wonder do you guys know of any books where the main character gets welcomed back into the fold? I know that I’ve read contemporaries but I don’t remember any paranormal stories.

How does a character feel when they are a werewolf , a vampire, hell a zombie hunter in a post-apocalyptic world? Are they any rituals?
