Eden Glenn lives on the lee of the Great Smokey Mountains outside of Asheville, NC with her partner, the lovely “lady librarian”. Their household is owned by a cat and a lovable nuisance of a dog that should be in Japan. Eden has blue eyes, but her hair color is subject to change without notice.
She is a member of RWA (Romance Writers of America) and FCRW (First Coast Romance Writers). She writes erotic romance stories (Male/Male; Female/Female; Menage’ M/F/M & M/M/F and M/F/F; M/F/M/M; and Hot Hot Hot M/F) in contemporary, historical and paranormal subgenres. Her latest release is Phoenix Reborn.
RK: How did you get started in your writing career?
EDEN: 2011 was the official beginning with the publication of “The Galloping Ghoul of Hockomock Swamp” in a Rebel Ink Press anthology. It later was published as a stand alone novella.
RK: Many of your stories combine fantasy and SF tropes. What makes these speculative tropes appealing to you as a writer?
EDEN: I love creating my own worlds along with history and culture. SF/Fantasy allows you that freedom of anything goes. I can have butterflies that bite like mosquitoes if I wish. Alligators that have 8 legs and move like spiders. Both of these are in one of my upcoming novellas. My son is my secret collaborator for monster creation.
RK: As a writer of erotic stories, are there issues with having your work taken seriously? Do you share you career with family and friends?
EDEN: When I worked in youth development I kept my pen name far from my real name. Now, I’m more transparent about it. My kids are all grown and hadn’t read my work until recently. My middle daughter read one of my stories and gave me a good thumbs up. Now, I read my stories out loud as a last edit with my partner to catch any glaring echoes. She asks a lot of hard questions that a regular reader would and I sometimes have to go back and fill things in better.
However, I get that people want to devalue erotic romance, with statements like Oh you write mommie porn or porno. No, I don’t. I write erotic romance. I have well developed plot lines, conflict and deep three dimensional characters that do more than say ‘Oh My’ and roll their eyes! Sex is part of the character’s journey of growth and fulfillment. I relate as a professional and I expect that from others. I can launch into a 45 minute dissertation on how erotic romance differs from Porn. Enough academic speak to make your eyes glaze over and roll back in your head. LOL
RK: When you develop a new story do you start with character or idea? Are you a pantser or a plotter?
EDEN: I am a combination of the two. I used to be very organic in my writing style. Now I have a general idea of where I need to head. Sometimes I start with a character, sometimes it is a piece of a scene that comes to mind. It varies a great deal. I like taking the journey with them but got tired of writing myself 3000 words down a dead end and having to cut it and start over. So, I try to write tighter and neater. I don’t have time for the vast wandering rabbit trails that don’t go anywhere.
RK: Can you tell us about some of your upcoming releases?
EDEN: Well, let’s see what I am working on? I have a couple of releases slated for this fall. I am madly trying to finish an as yet untitled wolf shifter story that is a ménage m/f/m. Then I have a f/f Halloween story. I have about 7 more releases under proposal with Rebel Ink Press that I am working my way through. Several of them are continuing stories in The Amethyst Desire Collection. Each story features this magical…perhaps magical… amethyst pendant. There are paranormal/fantasy stories as well as contemporary ones.
RK: Which ability would you prefer: to read minds or to see other people’s dreams? Why?
EDEN: I would prefer to read minds. The English language is so lame at really understanding someone. I could use mind reading to help me better understand.
RK: If you had a soundtrack album for your life, what are five songs that would be on it?
EDEN: I’m a Gypsy- Shakira; Principles of Lust – Enigma; Flightless Bird – Iron and Wine; Remember Me – Bella Ruse; Born to be Wild – Remake by Adam Lambert.

Phoenix Reborn
By Eden Glenn
Publisher: Rebel Ink Press
Phoenix shifter, Phyro Khant, and her dragon bodyguard, Tameron Murphy, are two loners that bonded together for love and safety. But their never-ending need to evade the dark witches that hunt Phyro for her Phoenix tears, blood and more, has worn them down and flat lined their relationship.
When Tam purchases Phyro an amethyst pendant from Salynne’s Crystals and Thyme, her efforts to imbue the stone with protective power backfires and grabs them with a spell previously coded into the stone. The magic ignites an inferno of passion the two lovers can’t seem to quench with any amount of sex.
Will their explosive passion be enough to teach them how to trust in time to accept the help they need from outsiders or will the witches win their final bid for power and control of the phoenix magic?
Thank you for inviting me to be your guest today. I’ll check in from time to time to see if readers have any questions or comments.
It’s wonderful to host you:)
Great interview. Your book sounds very intriguing. Best wishes.
Thank you Diane. I think it is a wonderful story. I was an unrelieved care giver for my mom at the time. I didn’t realize until I finished the story that it was about being a caregiver and accepting help from those around you. That underlying search for community.
Great interview! Thanks ladies!
