Hi friends! Charlee here. Many of you already know I’ve been going through some difficult weeks. My dad has been and still is very ill and in the hospital. Thanks to everyone who has sent their good wishes. He is doing a bit better and that has given me time to catch up on a few things in my inbox. Seems like the perfect time for a little Potpourri!
Quarterly SFR Magazine
One very exciting bit of news is that three talented SFR authors–Heather Massey, Diane Dooley, and KS Augustin–are teaming up to put out a quarterly online magazine dedicated to SFR. Sci-Fi Romance Quarterly will include features, reviews, new releases, and even original short fiction. Way to go ladies! You rock!
SF YA Hitting the Lists
Congratulations to friend of the blog, D L Richardson. her YA science-fiction novel Feedback recently made it to the Best Seller Science Fiction & Fantasy list at ebook online retailer OmniLit.
“I was stunned to see that I’d reached two spots in the top three Bestsellers list, as well as the Young Adult Bestsellers list, and the Science Fiction & Fantasy Bestseller list,” said DL. “It’s an author’s dream to be on any bestseller list but to be on three is amazing!”
While this online retailer isn’t as big as Amazon, it’s still a huge achievement for an independent author who puts this small success down to lots of promotion work through bookstores, libraries, online community, media, and high school visits. You can find out more about her books on her website www.dlrichardson.com.
Zombie Jewelry Goes Posh
Another friend of the blog recently contacted me about her new BRAAAINS collection of Zombie Fine Jewelry.
Check it out at slightjewelry.com.
What a fun way to show your dedication to the genre!
These little axe-in-the-zombie-head cuff links are my favorites.
Sneak Peek at What is Sure to be the Big Debut Paranormal Romance of the Spring
On Friday the 13th, Just Paranormal Romance is unveiling Mary Behre’s debut paranormal romance, SPIRITED (A Tidewater Novel). Mary is a friend of the blog and a personal friend of mine. I hope you’ll go check it out. Here is a bit more about the book from her website:
SPIRITED (A Tidewater Trilogy)
She’s running from who she is…
All Jules Scott wants is to live a normal, quiet life—preferably one that doesn’t include ghosts. Jules’s ability for communicating with the dead means needy spirits always find a way to draw her into their otherworldly drama. When one implicates her in a series of deadly crimes, Jules is forced to entrust her paranormal secrets to the person least likely to believe her, the super-hot cop who also poses a danger to her heart.
He’ll do whatever it takes to catch her.
Detective Seth English can’t get distracted from the big case he’s working on, not even by his alluring new neighbor. He doesn’t believe that Jules had anything to do with the string of robberies-turned-murders that he’s investigating, but when she keeps showing up in all the wrong places, including some scintillating fantasies, his gut tells him she knows more than she’s letting on. To solve his case, he’ll need to expose what the sexy redhead is hiding— but the truth could threaten more than the budding attraction between them…
Spirited is available for Pre-Order now at Amazon and Barnes & Noble or you can sign up for her newsletter on her website for release announcements. Mary is also doing an ARC giveaway on her facebook page.
New Paranormal Romance Release
My very good pal, Eden Glenn has a new f/f shifter novella coming out September 17th. This book is set in the paranormal side of her world and is related to (but not dependent on) several of her other novellas. It’s a world I always enjoy returning to.
Phoenix shifter, Phyro Khant, and her dragon bodyguard, Tameron Murphy, are two loners that bonded together for love and safety. But their never-ending need to evade the dark witches that hunt Phyro for her Phoenix tears, blood and more, has worn them down and flat lined their relationship.
When Tam purchases Phyro an amethyst pendant from Salynne’s Crystals and Thyme, her efforts to imbue the stone with protective power backfires and grabs them with a spell previously coded into the stone. The magic ignites an inferno of passion the two lovers can’t seem to quench with any amount of sex.
Will their explosive passion be enough to teach them how to trust in time to accept the help they need from outsiders or will the witches win their final bid for power and control of the phoenix magic?
Find out more about all of her books on her website.
I’m sure I’ve missed things I should have included, so please give a shout out in the comments if you have news. And thanks again for being such a wonderfully supportive and fun community!
