Zombie movies – what’s your favorite?

To wrap up Zombie Week with another chance to enter to win this week’s prizes, tell me what’s your favorite zombie movie and why?

Do you like the classics like Dawn of the Dead. Or maybe the more modern terror fest, 28 Days Later. Maybe you like the action packed Resident Evil movies.

My favorite is actually the zombie comedyβ€”Shaun of the Dead. If you have somehow missed this one (BTW – how are the accommodations beneath that rock?) you can check out the trailer:

Another movie high on my list is Zombieland, but mostly for the rules.Β

Your turn! Tell us your favorite zombie movie.

Now now. I’ve been trying to get Shaun of the Dead for y-e-a-r-s now in s-e Asia, with no luck. Finally have it on order from Amazon, complete with extortionate shipping fees. If that’s not love for a movie I haven’t even seen yet, I don’t know what is.

It is worth the effort. Enjoy!

I’m not a fan of zombies. Don’t like to watch movies about them or read books about them (though I admit I’ve never tried to read a book about them), but I have to say, my husband forced me to watch Zombieland, and I kind of liked it a lot. πŸ™‚

Wellll. I’m not exactly a fan of zombies, so much as I’m a fan of people who learn to double-tap and recreate their world. πŸ˜‰ Glad you liked Zombieland. So funny!

I’ll go with “Shaun” and “Zombieland.” The funny takes the edge off the fear πŸ™‚

Agreed! But I also like things like The Walking Dead and We’re Alive.

My son loves Dawn of the Dead, but my first zombie movie was Zombieland -which I found hilarious! I mean, you gotta make zombies funny because otherwise they are just so creepy!

Have you seen Saun of the Dead? It’s a must see for funny.

All good plans start by going to the pub.

I knew you’d like Shaun of the Dead. By far the best Zombie film ever. Have you seen Hot Fuzz and Run Fat Boy Run by any chance?

Another perosnal favorite Zombie flick of mine is Fido, though it not nearly in the class of Shaun.

LOL – yes, the pub. Not any of those handy here.

I saw Hot Fuzz and liked it, but not as much as Saun. HF was funnier the second time when I could see the long payoff jokes coming. They stretched it just a little too long for me.

Is Fido about a dog – ’cause zombie dofs are scare-y!

      1. Thomas Evans Avatar

Actually, Fido is Billy Connolly… proving that a boys best friend is his Zombie. Not nearly as good as Saun, but still a lark.

Fido is good! I think you’d like it Charlie because it’s about a society living with the reality that zombies exist.

I really liked 28 Days Later. But I’m much more a fan of the tv series, The Walking Dead because I could really relate to the characters.

    1. Charlie Avatar

Me too! But, ya know — I hope they beef up the female characters more in the second season.

28 Days Later definitely scares me the most, but my favorite would have to be Shaun of the Day. Instead of Valentine’s Day or V-Day, we have Z-Day and watch a bunch of zombie films to celebrate every year.

I’m not normally a zombie fan, but I loved ‘Night of the Comet’. It’s a very funny 80’s film about the last surviving humans (teens of course) fighting decaying humans. Throw in a secret government organization, girls with uzis and gratuitous shopping, and it’s pure fun.
