    Featured SFR Author: Jackie Rhoades

Our next featured author has over a dozen books out, but Jacqueline Rhoades is new to SFR. Already I am hearing great things about this Roark, Women of Earth Book 1. It sits upon my kindle shouting at me to read it.  If you haven’t read it yet either, be sure to enter one of our giveaways. Jackie has donated three copies!IRCbutton

I’m also excited about this book because I am going to get to meet Jackie at the Indie Romance Conference in Tennessee this October. We are both featured authors there. I know it is going to be a tun of fun.  If you are going, be sure to shout out so we can be on the look out for you!

    THE BOOK

Roark (Women Of Earth Book 1)

roarkThe people of planet Earth have suffered the tides of war for six long years, but it’s not their war. Earth is the battleground for the thousand year conflict between the invading Hahnshin and the Godan warriors of the Galactic Confederation.

Mira Donazetto’s only concern is for her family’s survival, so when she’s offered work as a translator for the Godan, she jumps at the chance and right into the arms of the new First Commander, Roark. Her heart says she should trust this alien warrior, but how can she when he has the power to take away everything she holds dear.

Roark’s new command post is a disaster with a long list of problems that he must address, including dissension among his officers. The last thing he needs is to have his heart touched by a woman who may be a traitor.

It’s a whole new world and a whole new love story in a whole new series called Women of Earth.

Roark is available at Amazon US and other retailers.

    JACQUELINE

Jacqueline, known as Jackie to her friends, lives in rural southern Ohio with one lovable husband and one spoiled dog. She believes coffee is a food group and therefore necessary to her survival. She always has a pot brewing. When not writing, she can usually be found with her nose in someone else’s book or working in her garden. She also spends a great deal of time chasing deer and rabbits who apparently also like gardening. Jackie loves hearing from her readers and is always willing to chat. She can be reached through her website.

    Mini-Interview

    Q. When did you realize SFR was a genre?

    A. I realized SFR was a genre a couple of years ago when I met S.E. Smith and the idea intrigued me. Long ago, I was a sci-fi fan, but most of those books were written by men and had little to do with romance.

    Q. What SFR book had the most impact on your reading and/or writing?

    A. While S.E. Smith introduced me, I’ve read many including M.K.Eidem, Eve Langlais, Mina Carter, and Michelle Diener just to name a few. My writing, of course, is my own, but I do admire how these authors tell a tale.

    Q. Do your books lean more SF or Romance?

    A. I’m a romance writer. Whether it’s paranormal, contemporary, or sci-fi, romance will always be the focus, but that doesn’t mean, I’ll ignore the science. Every bit of futuristic science I write about has some basis in current scientific fact or theory, though it’s fun to put my own twist on possible outcomes!

    A reader question from Jackie:

Do you like more science with your romance or just enough to allow you to suspend reality? Is it just those sexy aliens, or do you like to envision that possible future?
