There are lots of great things about SciFi, but one of the coolest things is the ooh-ahh-wow feeling you can get when SciFi paints a picture of what the future might be like. Every show, book, or game paints a different picture and we could all add our own ideas to the mix.
I recently discovered a fun podcast that brings together smart folks in different fields to give their predictions of what the future has in store for us all.
Here is there blurb:
“You’ll get short term, long term, and crazy predictions from some of the smartest people on the planet. From robot overlords, to growing your own meat in a dish, you never know what predictions our guest will make and where the conversation may end up. Join us for a peak at the future.”
If you have a long commute or need something to listen to while you do housework, yard work, or lay in your hammock, give it a listen.
Here is the website: http://www.fourcastpodcast.com/
It is also available through itunes and other subscriber feeds.
And just for fun, I predict in the near future we will be doing lots of things like typing, channel surfing, etc; using eye movements. Have you got a prediction for the future?
Very cool! Although I don’t think I want to grow meat in a dish…
This is off subject. I am trying to locate a book title. I don’t remember the author as it as been many, many years since I read the book. Do you have a website or search engine that would help one find the book? Really would appreciate the help.
Lisa
I don’t know of a search engine, but this blog – http://www.smartbitchestrashybooks.com/index.php – has a good archive search section and they will do posts to ask their readers for help if you contact them and give them some facts about the book.
Good luck!
